The Mizoram government established MEDMOC on October 25, 2016, to oversee EDS and the 2019 Startup Policy, fostering entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and reducing public sector dependence in the state.
Launched on January 18, 2017, Mizoram's EDS under NEDP promotes entrepreneurship by educating youth on opportunities beyond the public sector.
Launched on July 18, 2017, Mizoram Kailawn 2017 was the state's first business plan competition and entrepreneurship summit.
Mizoram Rahbi, meaning "stepping stone," is a Micro Startup Capital Competition under NEDP, launched on December 7, 2017, to provide seed capital and promote self-employment, organized by EDC under MEDMOC's supervision.
In September 2019, EDC organized the Mizoram Innovative Challenge, a hackathon fostering innovation by encouraging creative solutions to public challenges, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing problem-solving skills among the state's youth.
Mizoram Startup Mission (MSUM), under the Planning Department, coordinates startup initiatives, spreading awareness, educating youth, providing skills, microfinance, mentorship, and support to foster entrepreneurship beyond the public sector.
