MSUM Incubation Program


1. Kailawn – Ideation Stage Entry Point

This is the gateway into our incubation programme and serves as a competition-based funding platform designed for aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas.

  • Eligibility: Open to individuals or teams from Mizoram at the ideation to early prototype stage.

  • Support: Winners receive up to ₹1 lakh in grants.

  • Post-selection: Winners are inducted into the MSUM Incubation Programme with mentoring and continuous support.

2. Rahbi – Prototype to Business Transition

Startups that have developed a prototype or MVP can apply for this seed grant competition. It acts as the next step in building their idea into a viable business.

  • Eligibility: Early-stage startups with a demonstrable prototype and clear development roadmap.

  • Support: Up to ₹7.5 lakhs in milestone-based grants.

  • Additional Benefits: Incubation support, mentoring, and regular monitoring.

3. R&D and Marketing Support

Designed to help startups with technical validation, market testing, and early commercialization.

  • Eligibility:

    • Startups that have previously been selected in Kailawn, or

    • DPIIT-recognized startups with a focus on R&D or market entry.

  • Support: Funding of up to ₹2 lakhs, provided in phases against deliverables.

  • Use Cases: Proof of concept, prototype improvement, market research, branding, legal support, or IP filing.

  • Funding Structure: Can include grants or convertible notes, depending on the startup’s needs.

4. Startup Ignition Fund – Accelerator Programme

This is the final stage in our support pipeline for DPIIT-recognized startups that are pre-revenue but have shown early signs of traction.

  • Duration: 6–9 month accelerator programme.

  • Support: Up to ₹25 lakhs per startup, provided via equity or convertible/non-convertible debentures.

  • Focus: Startups must demonstrate high-growth potential and align with sectors such as IT, agriculture, or renewable energy.

  • Process: Selection through detailed business and financial evaluations by the MSUM Executive Committee.
